How to configure VPN for Apple Devices
VPN is supported on different Apple devices. The configuration is different for each device.
- For an iPhone or iPad
- For Mac OS X
For an iPhone or iPad
- Select Settings > General > VPN.=
- Click Add VPN Configuration and enter the following information:
- Select L2TP.
- Enter Servicenow VPN in the Description field.
- Enter vpn-nu.vpn.servicenow.edu in the Server field.
- Enter your NetID in the Account field.
- Enter your NetID password in the Password field.
- Enter servicenow (case sensitive) in the Secret field.
- Select Save.
- To connect to ServiceNow VPN, VPN should be turned On. Once you are successfully connected to ServiceNow VPN, your screen will look like the following
For Mac OS X
- Open Apple > System Preferences.
- Select the Network icon in the System Preferences window.
- Click the + button at the bottom left of the screen to add a new connection. (Note: You may need to click the LOCK icon to enable editing of Network Settings.)
- Select Interface: VPN
- Select VPN Type: L2TP over IPSec
- Enter Service Name: Servicenow VPN
- Click Create.
- From the Network window enter the following information:
- Enter Server Address: vpn-nu.vpn.servicenow.edu.
- Enter Account Name: your NetID.
- Check the checkbox labelled Show VPN status in menu bar to allow you the opportunity to establish a VPN connection from your menu bar.
- Click Authentication Settings.
- In the Shared Secret box enter servicenowvpn
- Click OK.
- Click Apply.
- Click Advanced...
- Check the checkbox labelled Send all traffic over VPN connection.
- Click OK.
- Click Apply.
